These are some questions we get every year, so we're doing our best to answer them in advance!

DO I HAVE TO SUBMIT TO PERFORM ON THIS FESTIVAL? I LIVE HERE AND I'M GOOD FRIENDS WITH THE PEOPLE RUNNING IT!

Everyone has to submit to perform with the exception of our headliners, producers, show runners, and invited guests. In a perfect world we'd love to put everyone on a show, but that makes for a really long show that isn't fair to performers or an audience.

DO I HAVE TO PAY TO SUBMIT, EVEN IF I'M BEST FRIENDS WITH THE PRODUCERS OF THE FESTIVAL?

Yes, everyone who has to submit has to pay the submission fee. We make no exceptions in that regard, because submission fees and ticket sales are how we pay to put this festival on every year as we don't have much in the way of corporate sponsorship.

IF I DON'T GET INTO THE FESTIVAL, DO I GET MY SUBMISSION FEE REFUNDED?

Unfortunately, no. Many festivals charge a minimum of $25-40 for a submission fee, which is why we always strive to keep our fee low. $15 is better than a large number of festivals you're going to find, and we even increased the number of available Early Bird submissions ($12) this year to further accommodate comedians. Even if you don't get in, you've still supported something really cool, and we are grateful for that support.

IF I'VE ALREADY SUBMITTED A VIDEO, BUT THEN GET A BETTER ONE, CAN I SUBMIT THE NEW VIDEO INSTEAD?

No. We start watching submission videos pretty much from the moment they roll in so we can get a headstart on the decision making process. If we make that exception for one comic, we have to make it for every comic, and that's potentially time we've wasted watching old submission videos. Even if you've already paid your submission fee, you still have up until the submission deadline to submit your info and clip. If you're not confident in your current clip and think you can get a better one, hold off on submitting until you've got a clip you're happy with (or by the deadline, whichever comes first).

WHEN IS THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE?

Friday, March 2nd at 11:59 PM, EST. Once the IndieGoGo has closed, submissions are closed. If you paid your submission fee but didn't fill out a submission form or vice versa, we will not make any exceptions if you try to slide in after the deadline. It takes time for us to narrow down the submission videos, and that deadline is set in place to allow us the time to do that so we can give accepted comics enough notice to make travel plans for the festival once it rolls around.

ARE YOU ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FOR IMPROV, SKETCH, OR OTHER NON-STAND-UP PERFORMERS?

Currently, no. If that ever changes, we'll announce it and make it clear in all marketing and promotional materials for the festival and its fundraising campaigns in the future.

ARE YOU ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FOR SHOWS?

Not at this time. We have a number of Columbus based specialty shows that we feature in the festival every year, and we typically invite a few shows from out of town, but we typically cap it with those shows.

DO YOU NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR THE FESTIVAL?
